On 11 June, Daniel Turner successfully defended his PhD dissertation Grave Reminders: Comparing Mycenaean tomb building with labour and memory. We congratulate him on his achievement and on obtaining a one-year postdoc position within the Anchoring Innovation project.

Yannick Boswinkel’s PhD dissertation (Labouring with large stones. A study into the construction of fortifications in Late Bronze Age Greece) had furthermore been accepted by the committee.

Both their work will contribute to our understanding of Mycenaean funerary practices and the structuring of Mycenaean communities.

From 2015 until 2020 the project SETinSTONE will be performed at Leiden University.
