Nicky van de Beek studied Egyptology (research MA, BA) and Archaeology (BA) at Leiden University as well as following a minor in Digital Humanities. She wants to develop within the field of Digital Egyptology and is interested in digital epigraphy, photogrammetry, 3D modeling and network analysis. Several of these methods she uses in publishing the Old Kingdom tomb chapel of Hetepherakhty at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, and in her PhD research on decorated elite tombs from the Egyptian capital city of Memphis during the 5th dynasty (ca. 2450 BCE).
Currently she works as Project Manager for prof.dr. Ann Brysbaert’s ERC project SETinSTONE.
